Weekly News 1/13/20


From Mrs. Colorio: On Tuesday, 1/7, & Thursday, 1/9, students in Grades 11 & 12 visited Habitat for Humanity Restore. They received an orientation on volunteering, as well as attended an information session on the housing situation in Worcester. What a great learning extension for our students!

From Ms. O’Brien: On Friday, January 10th, Home Economics club members practiced their sewing skills. The students worked on small repairs and practiced various types of stitches. How fun!

This week and beyond:

IMPORTANT BASKETBALL NOTICE: Athletes are NOT allowed to remain in the building for late practices. Please check with Mr. McAnulty regarding the practice & game schedules during this midterm exam week. During a regular school week, if practice begins later than 3:30, students must leave school and return at the appropriate start time. Athletes may and are encouraged to attend homework club to complete assignments. Homework club meets Mondays – Thursdays 2:15-3:15 pm. Please be diligent to check stats, congratulate teams, check schedules, touch base with coaches, and/or contact Mr. McAnulty (rmcanulty@stmaryshigh.org) if you have any questions.

January 13 (Monday) – January 24 (Friday): MAP Testing for elementary students.

January 13 (Monday) – January 16 (Thursday): Midterm exams; 1/2 days for students in grades 7-12; 11:25 dismissal for grades 7-12 only. Full day of school for grades preK – 6. Dismissal at 2:15.

January 14 (Tuesday): Texas Roadhouse restaurant fundraiser to benefit Home and School Association. Read the flyer for details.

January 16 (Thursday) – Re-enrollment notification deadline. See notice for details.

January 17 (Friday) – Professional Development Day: NO SCHOOL; 2nd quarter ends and grades close

January 17 (Friday) – Order lunch with by midnight with Chick-fil-A at cfawooordering.com. No lunch orders for Monday, 1/20 (MLK Jr. Day).

January 20 (Monday) – Martin Luther King Jr. Day: NO SCHOOL

January 21 (Tuesday) – 3rd quarter begins

January 24 (Friday) – March for Life (Pro-Life rally) in Washington D.C.
