Catholic Schools Week

Click here for a schedule of events.

Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2017 is January 29 – February 4. The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2017 is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” Schools typically observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.

Calendar Raffle

Calendar Raffle 2017

Dear Parents,

This year, during the month of February, we are organizing one of the most successful fundraisers – our annual Calendar Raffle. “Have a Heart” is this year’s theme with a special prize drawn on February 14th. This fundraiser helps us greatly to meet our budget and allows us to enhance our programs and offer additional resources to our students and faculty.
The elementary, junior and senior high school students, faculty and staff will participate but we also encourage our parishioners, alumni and friends to take part in this worthy fundraiser. With everyone’s support, the sky is the limit in terms of the dollars we can raise for our great schools.
During the month of February, we will host a month-long raffle and draw a winning ticket every day. Each ticket has 28 chances to win and can be drawn multiple times. All prizes are listed on the calendar; each day a lucky participant will win either cash or a gift card. Each Sunday of the month, the winner will collect $100.00 in cash. On February 14th, Valentine’s Day, the winner will collect $500.00 and on February 20th, President’s Day, the winner will collect $250.00. Our grand prize in the amount of $1,000.00 will be drawn on our last day, February 28th. Winners will be notified by phone and emails as they are drawn.
We ask that each family sells a minimum of ten (10) calendars at $10.00 each. Families with two or more children enrolled in PreK through grade 12 are asked to sell a minimum of fifteen (15) calendars. We do not expect you to purchase all the calendars yourself; we kindly ask that you sell them to your family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers and members of your individual parishes.
In order for this fundraiser to be a success we need your help and participation. It truly is important for each family to sell your minimum allotment of calendars. Additional calendars will be available upon request. If each family sells their minimum share we will reward our entire student body for all of your hard work and support.
Thank you for your assistance and dedication to St. Mary’s Schools, all you do for us is greatly appreciated and may God bless you.

Sincerely,

Adam J. Cormier
Principal

New Playground from Working for Worcester!

We are so pleased and excited to announce that St. Mary’s Schools received an early Christmas gift as we are the recipient of a grant for a new playground from Working for Worcester. The grant will be used to create a space in the lot to the left of the school complete with swings, slides and other playground equipment within the existing school yard. Working for Worcester is centrally organized by Students Helping Children Across Borders (SHCAB) but in development and implementation, the project is a city-wide partnership of student organizations, local businesses, academic institutions, city government and community groups. On Saturday, April 29, 2017 teams of workers representing each of the above constituencies will spend the day at the nineteen chosen sites, including St. Mary’s, starting and completing each approved project.
We know that we are blessed and so grateful for the generosity of Working for Worcester. We know this will make a difference in the lives of our students for years to come.
